I never really used Twitter in the past, even though I got an account in 2017. I was confused on how to tweet and retweet, but the good thing is that they were not difficult to learn. I followed several researchers from our TIME articles. I followed Barbara J, King and I think following her is really helpful for me to study in this class. A majority of Barbara J. King’s tweets and retweets are about animals, such as the ethical problems about monkey, nearly extinct species, and etc.
I tweet about animal ethical issues a lot, because we always need to consider the ethical issue when it comes to animal research.
I followed a group called “Insect Migration”, since insect migration sounds interesting to me. I may choose this topic in the future. The problem is that I am not sure which topic I would choose, thus, I followed people and organizations from different areas of animal research field. I believe it will be easier for me to choose an interesting topic if I stated to read tweets from different animal research areas.
I retweeted Dr. Temple Grandin’s tweets about animal abuse at Fair Oaks. This tweets addressed the issue of how farms should take care of their animals. By reading tweets this week, I learned a lot about animal research and was shocked about the amount of information I can find on twitter.
I am comfortable to use twitter to find the information I need. Twitter is similar to Sina Weibo, and I have been using Sina Weibo for many years. I like this kind of platform very much!
Your twitter update blog is super specific and detailed. I like the details that you talk about "Insect Migration" and retweeted for Dr. Temple Grandin’s tweets. I agree that we need to concern about the ethical of animals.
